UWF, PSC working to enlist extra nurses for Escambia County hospitals

As Florida’s nursing scarcity disaster is projected to extend, hospitals and universities in Escambia County are working to remain forward of the curve by bolstering the native pipeline for recruiting, coaching and using nurses.

HCA Florida West Hospital is partnering with Pensacola State School to assist improve the variety of potential nurses in native hospitals by investing $50,000 right into a PSC outreach and coaching program.

“The Pensacola State School Nurse Explorer Boot Camp will assist broaden and speed up the nursing pipeline by participating college students in underserved populations whereas they’re in highschool,” Kendrick Doidge, West Florida Hospital director of communications and neighborhood engagement mentioned in an emailed launch concerning the initiative.
